about

A collection of odds and ends recorded at various times and locations between 2004 and 2008 and released on a variety of formats for a variety of labels.

Tracks 1 & 2 were written and recorded at the band's 2nd rehearsal after they had solidified as a 3 piece with Kim on vocals and flute.

Tracks 3 & 4 were recorded by DS:P!, mixed with George Patterson and released as a cassette on Dial Records. Pretty sure this was a "protest" song having to do with George W. Bush and/or the band's trip through Texas on their first tour. Maybe.

Track 5 was recorded at by Eli Crews at New/Improved Studio in Oakland, Ca. and was released by Not Not Fun as a split 7" with Los Angeles band Silver Daggers.

Track 6 recorded and mixed with George Patterson for a 真珠 Jerk Off Rec Compilation (Japan). The band was hungover and it shows. A much more upbeat version of Exit Villager was recorded for the Insects Awaken album.

Tracks 7 & 8 came from a tape of improvisations done at a rehearsal. This was released by the band as a CD-r so the band would have a current release to bring along on a short tour with NYC's Ex-Models in 2006. Mastered by Weasel Walter for the utmost in fidelity.

Track 9 was recorded during the sessions for Insects Awaken. In an attempt to be arty/tricky the band chose to release the vinyl version of the song as their half of a split 10" on the French label Bibimbap. (The other side is by The Dreams from Strasbourg, Fr. and it rules.) The CD version of Insects Awaken (the album) has Insects Awaken (the song) as an untitled bonus track at the end. The LP version (of Insects Awaken, the album) ends with the song Village Host.
